UBABEF launches the International Poultry Raising Show

The CEO of Brazilian Poultry Raising Association (UBABEF), Francisco Turra, launched, during the Avisulat (III South Brazilian Conference on Poultry, Pork and Dairy Industry and Equipment Service and Technology Trade Fair), the International Poultry Raising Show (SIAV), which will be held between August 27-29, 2013, in São Paulo.

The SIAV will bring together all links of the production chain at a large hall involving business and knowledge. The show aims to encompass many attractions intended for all segments of the national and international poultry raising and internationally, such as the largest fair of the sector promoted in Brazil, workshops, seminars and the 23rd edition of the Brazilian Poultry Raising Congress, most traditional event of the national poultry sector.

With the theme “Less Taxes, More Food”, the Congress will bring together national and international experts, businessmen and authorities from the economic and political areas in order to discuss the impacts and the ways to improve the negotiating strategies with the National and States Executive Powers for reducing the tax burden on food in Brazil, which is one of the highest in the world.

“It is no longer possible to keep the current level of taxes applied on Brazilian food producers. The time has come to put this issue on the agenda, since it affect the international country`s competitiveness and the food safety for Brazilian people. The Congress, held at the SIAV, will be a milestone to consolidate this theme as the poultry sector`s priority”, stressed Turra.

As the main sector`s event, the SIAV is also a major business center, with a trade fair that will occupy more than 10 thousand square meters, with total infrastructure and comfort, at the Anhembi Exhibition Center.

According to Turra, genetic houses, equipment companies, suppliers of raw materials, laboratories, certification bodies and others already guaranteed their participations in the event, besides 30 agro-industries that produce and export poultry and eggs, three of them with own stands.

More than 70% of the area has already been marketed. More than 20 companies are intended for farm equipment. There never was a similar situation like that in our history. This fact is an evidence of the confidence of companies in the achievement of an event like that”, concluded Turra.
